Tim Skelly — MBA – Strategy and Business Operations
I started my passion for business and revenue growth when I ran a food truck and launched a specialty travel business while still in high school. That love for creating a tangible service that provides value to customers has followed me ever since. Now, with more than 25 years experience and multi million-dollar revenue results from unique, value driven product development initiatives, that passion continues as I use my skills as a strategist, product developer, and operations professional to help organizations find profitable market positions, uncover inefficient operating processes, or build new products and services that fill true customer needs and wants in market. I am attracted to organizations requiring transformational change whether it is driven by market changes, competitive influences, or growth outpacing an organizations’ capacity. I am a fact-based leader with experience in finding answers through detailed research and the analytical ability to identify key insights to build creative strategies and plans. I have implemented each strategic plan I have developed so I know the challenges and opportunities involved in rolling out complex plans with multiple stakeholders and utilize leading and lagging indicators to ensure we all stay on track to success. Most important while doing all this; I find what motivates my team members, help them build development plans, remove barriers to their success, and always try to have fun while doing it!
I spent the majority of my career developing innovative digital services, creating new products and partnerships, and building and executing product and corporate strategies. I have worked in the private sector, public sector, and not for profit providing me with a unique perspective on how to get things done in different organizational structures. The industries I have helped include transportation, advertising, health, ecommerce, digital services, retail, and services. As a product developer and product manager I have also directed and or led work in several corporate functions including finance, customer service, legal, privacy, sales, marketing, operations, IT / Development, HR, organizational development, business development / partnerships, and communications.
When I am not building and implementing strategy for my clients, I love hiking the many trails in and around the Ottawa area. I have also hiked across the Pyranees, along the Amalfi Coast, and more recently 125 kms along the eastern coast of Spain. I love working with my hands and have refinished over 40 antiques and pieces of furniture. Oh, I also own and run an underbody dog coat business called Muddy Mutts you may have heard of us as it was one of the most shared and viewed companies on social media following the infamous twitter poll “if a dog wore pants would it have two legs or four?”
